Flamenco Guitar Gear

Fine Flamenco Guitars

My main guitars are a 1989 Stephen Hill flamenco and a 1962 Manuel de la Chica flamenco – both are blancas.

I use LaBella 2001′s on all of my guitars, and I use LaBella Argentos to record.

On stage I use a Beyer M201 through a Rock-It Science preamp (it’s a prototype built by Richard Zeier) into an Acoustic Image amp as a monitor that feeds direct to the house.

In the studio I have a 16 channel Neotek Series 1 console as the front end to a Pro Tools HD2 rig.

In addition to the 16 channels of Neotek pres I have pres by Millennia, Vintech, JoeMeek, Symetrix, and Presonus. Lately I’ve been using that prototype pre by Richard Zeier on everything and loving it. I’m hoping he can bring it to market soon.

My mic cabinet includes a pair of Nemuann km84′s, a pair of AKG 28c’s, an AKG 414 (with original brass CK12 capsule), a Neumann U89, a Pearlman TM-1, Sennheiser 441, AKG 451, Shure SM81 and assorted other mics.
