I’ve been doing some gear reviews over on the GSI Blog lately, including the L. R. Baggs Anthem SL Classical pickup and Apogee’s new USB/iPhone/iPad microphone. I’m not a big proponent of pickups for flamenco guitar, but this one is as good as I’ve heard, and the Apogee mic is seriously cool.

Gear Reviews from Kai Narezo

They’ve just released my first lesson on the very cool ‘On The Music Path’ iPad app. It’s an intro to flamenco lesson that covers a lot of intro techniques including scales, arpeggios, alzapua and a lot of rasqueados, all in the Tangos rhythm. You can check it out here – On The Path.

First Lesson Out on ‘On The Path’ iPad App from Kai Narezo

I just finished shooting the first in a series of flamenco lessons for the ‘On The Path’ app for the iPad. The technology is pretty amazing – you can slow things down, skip around, loop any part of the lesson, and they’re shot beautifully. It seems like a pretty amazing tool for teaching, so I’m [...]

Learn Flamenco on Your iPad from Kai Narezo

I’ve been writing a series of articles for the Guitar Salon Blog on recording. They’re geared towards novices for the most part, but they cover a lot of material from the basics of computer recording (software, interfaces, how that all works, etc…) to things like microphones and mic placement.
