Ever since I got my new guitar (new to me – it’s a 1962 Manuel De La Chica) I’ve been trying to find the right mic for recording it, and now that I start tracking in a few weeks with Joey Heredia and Ric Fierabracci I really had to make a decision. After trying every mic/pre combo I had available I think I’ve found it: AKG c28C’s through the Vintech 273 pres. Not what I would have guessed, but it never is, is it?
